Went to the infectious disease doctor this afternoon, and after waiting 2 hours (1 hour in the room) the receptionist came in to say that he needs to cancel. Apparently his German au pair has not learned to drive (i am guessing licensed to drive), and so he needed to pick his kids up from school. I am somewhat skeptical since most of the local schools are on spring break, but it sounded planned. It is now rescheduled for tomorrow.

I am left with two suspicions: (1) Where the heck is his wife to pick up the kids; (2) Did he punt me because he is not familiar enough with Lyme, and by not reading the schedule in advance was going to look like an idiot. I certainly became even more suspicious when he wouldn’t even come in and talk for a couple of minutes. Regardless, I guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

  1. Waiting in those little cubicles is bad enough, waiting for an hour is worse, but being told after all that the doctor has to cancel is off the scale annoying.

  2. I agree. And when I said planned it was something that probably came up this morning. It would have been better if he had personally come and apologized, but apparently that was too much to ask.

  3. No. This was more than planned. Other patients for the afternoon had been “moved up”. We were not moved up, so we were put to the end of the schedule. Made us easy to cut. This after waiting a month for the appointment to boot!!!!

I am still beyond angry. Jerk could have had the nerve to come in there and apologize. Now he is going to do us a “favor” and come in to see us. I know y’all think I am mean, but I am really mad. We drove a sizable distance and waited two hours. We had a baby sitter too. (Thanks Holly!!)

Tomorrow I am bringing my weapons of mass destruction with me… hehe..

  4. Make sure to charge him for wasting your time … same fee as if you did not show up.

  5. mdmhvonpa… I wish we could!!

  6. argh.
