The latest MRI radiologist report has been posted. Not the more interesting read, but not that much of an upper either. Of course they missed a scan of the spine, and I am guessing that “axial T2 fast spin echo sequence” = FLAIR (which I believe is a type of T2 scan) since that one is missing from the report (and is the one they tend to like for MS). The Neuro said he would call them and have them do the scan, but have not heard from them yet (maybe time for another reminder call). On the other hand it has been almost a month since the original scan; hopefully the Myelin has significant repaired.

  1. Erik: I, too, am glad you’re back!
I have had 3 MRI’s so far and have never seen any of the related paperwork. Would not know how to really read it but some of it looks understandable, being that I know the word lesion. Since moving my new family doctor has obtained my records from California. My new neuro hasn’t seen them yet though because they were not received before my first appointment. He probably thinks that I am one of those hypochondriacs with a really good health plan:) I am not altogether sure that I like him yet, so I will make copies for my personal use before I see him again. Happy New Year!

  2. I hope you had a merry merry and are off to a happy happy 🙂

May the coming year bring you peace, joy and health (and some recovery.)

  4. Mouse,
My first neuro was a big supporter of keeping the films (which was good since I was too). I just asked for a copy of the report to keep with it. I have learned a little, but still MRI speak is still greek to me. 🙁

  5. Charles-A. Rovira,
Thanks, and hopefully some sleep and R&R!

  6. mdmhvonpa,
I suppose for better or worse! 😉 I am still uber busy (3 kids, wife, etc.) so we’ll see how I do.

  7. Addendum:
After finally getting the missing scan I asked the tech and “axial T2 fast spin echo sequence” is not equal to FLAIR. That really just adds more questions: why no FLAIR; is “axial T2 fast spin echo sequence” the successor; why did they do FLAIR of the brain, but not of the spine.
