I have thought this for a while but Wesley Smith summarized it very well in this article. I know, from personal experience, that people (most?) think the debate is on stem cells or that embryonic stem cells are the only stem cells (or the only important stem cells). No matter how bad my Multiple Sclerosis gets I will never condone the use of embryonic stem cells – it is just an abhorrent practice but something better discussed in MUL. What I am very happy to see is that there is very significant progress being made with adult stem cells regardless of whether it is being reported or not. While I don’t expect stem cells to cure Multiple Sclerosis I am very hopeful that they can turn back the clock and reverse the Myelin/Nerve damage and remove all disability. This might take treatments every decade or so but that is almost as good as a cure!
