I was up at the nurosurgery wing of Southwest Medical School a couple of weeks ago and walked by the ALS

clinic (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease) area. No

one was sitting in there at the time but as I sat in the waiting room –

which was shared with them – they took two people back. Obviously this

was early ALS because I saw no signs of disability. It really hurt my

heart to see them knowing that they have a death sentence and there is

a very good chance that they will be dead in 2-5 years. 🙁 Certainly

makes my complaints about MS seem petty! Also makes me want to do their

Walk to D’feet ALS – good excuse to get out and get some exercise and raise awareness about and awful disease.
