I used to be of the opinion that the tried and true drugs that a doctor prescribed was always the really best route and the alternative therapies were just for tree huggers. In my waning and waxing frustration with MS I now understand the appeal of alternative therapies – at least amount a significant portion of those who use them. There is no magic bullet with MS – as has become all to apparent with my Rebif therapy – which drives me to at least look at other ways to help out mitigate the effects of this disease. Not that I plan on stopping what is prescribed but maybe there are some “natural” things that can help too – though maybe that just means taking my vitamins, eating healthier, exercising, blah, blah blah. I definitely don’t see myself doing Bee Venom Therapy (BVT) or Hippo Butt Therapy (pretty adult satire) but you never know!
